Head Athletic Trainer John Overton Awarded by TSATA

Howard College's Head Athletic Trainer, John "Doc" Overton, was included as part of the 2022 inductees of the Texas State Athletic Trainer's Association Hall of Honor. He was inducted under the Hall of Honor - Region 2.

Doc served six years on the TSATA board.  He served three years as the Vice-Chairman and in his final year, he was the Chairman.  In his time on the board, he was instrumental in creating the Hall of Honor, doubled the scholarship amounts given to high school and college students, set up the student association, and assisted and supported the concussion legislation. He will be the youngest to ever have been inducted into the Hall of Honor, to date.

Doc is more than deserving of this award and we couldn't be more proud of him. His passion and dedication to our students, Howard College, the Howard County community, and the athletic training/sports medicine community are recognized and appreciated every day.
